Chapter 4: Part 3
Reviews: Emily
“It’s been a pleasure working with you. I’m honoured by your praise, and am already amazed at the general advice you’ve given me so far. Currently, I’ve only been able to go over the your pointers in the email itself, but I am eager to get started with rewriting next week after my college exams. I will review your comments thoroughly once I’m able, and through them, will polish this manuscript into being proper novel material. I cannot thank you enough for the work you’ve done and your faith in my work, therefore, I will use this opportunity to continue improving my writing ability.
When I finish the manuscript for the follow-up book to this one, JD Book Services will be the first people I go to for having it edited. Thank you, again, and I hope to be able to work with you once more”
-Ashton Rivera, author of Inhumanity Week
“I published my debut romance fantasy after working with Emily of JD Book Services. To say I had an excellent experience with her would be an understatement, especially given the level of anxiety I was feeling with an entirely new process . She combed through my manuscript, catching minor slip-ups, such as when an em dash didn’t format properly, and discovering major issues, like when I used the wrong character name entirely.
With every comment she provided, she gave a detailed explanation as to why she felt the change was needed, and it felt like the suggestions were coming from a place of helping me, the author, to better my ability to write. My book was long, but that didn’t seem to phase her or the quality and consistency of her work in the least. When she was finished with edits, the manuscript was returned to me with an extremely detailed list of items she suggested I work on, as well as areas where I excelled. I would highly recommend working with Emily to any of you looking for an editor, and I am already on the books to work with her again.”
-EA Fortneaux, author of the Obligates of Aerta series
“Thank you. This is exactly the sort of input I need. I have digested your comments and have a good idea of the changes I intend to make. It has been a pleasure working with you, I found your feedback and comments invaluable. Now onto the hard part!.”
-Matthew Brace, author of Children of the Artificial Gods
“Just wanted to thank you guys for being fast and professional. Emily’s feedback, suggestions, explanations, and direction make this an easy process to understand and learn from. I appreciate all the side notes and glimpses to the thought process behind corrections/suggestions. I will be in touch soon for part 2.”
– Scott Bittner, author of TBC
“I didn’t grow up wanting to be a writer. I am a veterinarian who started writing a book when I realized no one had written a veterinary book that talked about veterinary medicine the way I experienced it. What I mean to say is, I have a science degree, not an english degree. Nearly 99% of the fictional reading I do is through audiobooks, so I make a ton of grammatical errors, especially through punctuation because I don’t constantly read examples on the page. Despite me saying that, I learn best by example.
Almost all of Emily’s feedback comments have an example or the suggested change. That made editing on my end easier. Her comments made the changes easy to see and understand why they were needed.”
